We have a huge project with Watato Church that we have been praying and preparing for a long time now. It is finally moving forward! We are currently running a pilot training at our campus in Jinja with a group of people passionate about helping people get out of poverty. We are also piloting a training program called "Gardens of Faithfulness" with a group of youth at the church. We are also modeling how cell groups throughout Watoto can use Farming God's Way to accomplish one of the pillars of cell groups, "caring for community". We are doing this by serving a vulnerable family near our cell group by putting in a vegetable garden and helping them to provide nutritious food for their family. We are also planning trainings at Watato campuses at: Jinja, Gulu (Northern Uganda), Kampala, Mbarara (western Uganda), and Juba, South Sudan. We are planning our first training in Juba, South Sudan next month. This is a war-torn country that really needs development and Jesus. ⁠In April I am going to Senegal to help run the first In-Field Mentoring for West Africa. I have been running the one for East Africa for many years and I'm coming alongside another American missionary to begin one in West Africa. This is where we are helping to mentor Farming God's Way trainers all over West Africa toward becoming an accredited trainer. We are advancing deep into enemy territory and this needs lots of prayer! We are trusting God to send us a missionary or missionaries to come alongside us as we implement this God-sized project at Watoto. This thing is too big for us and we need serious help!!
